U.S. Attorney New Release: Business Owner Pleads Guilty to Fraudulently Marketing Dietary Supplements
Beth Phillips, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced today that a Springfield, Mo., business owner has pleaded guilty in federal court to her role in a conspiracy to fraudulently market dietary supplements over the Internet with illegal claims that these supplements could prevent, treat or cure a number of diseases. Several Web sites were used to sell nearly $12 million worth of the products in 2005 and 2006.
