New contraceptive pokes interest of health care officials (Purdue Exponent)
Starting next year, birth control can be as easy as one doctor's office visit every three years. On Tuesday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Implanon, a 1 1/2 inch, single-rod contraceptive that is implanted into the interior of the upper arm of a woman.
