Indian Groceries and Spices, Inc Issues Voluntary Recall of Raw Pistachio Kernels (April 15)
Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella Inc. expanded their voluntary pistachio recall due to potential Salmonella contamination. As a precautionary measure, Indian Groceries and Spices, Inc., which sourced 50 cases of pistachios from Setton, decided to voluntarily recall the raw pistachio kernel item, recalling our shipments which sold in Illinois, Florida, South Carolina, Ohio and Indiana from October 2008, to March 31, 2009.

Hines Nut Company of Dallas, TX is recalling Roasted and Salted Inshell Pistachio Nuts because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled products contain pistachios supplied by Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. as a precautionary measure because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella. Setton expanded their recall of roasted shelled and in-shell pistachios April 6, 2009 to include all 2008 crop pistachio products that it has shipped to date.

Albanese Confectionery Group, Inc. of Merrillville, Indiana manufactures nut products which contain pistachios supplied by Setton Pistachio and also distributes pistachio products purchased from Setton Pistachio. Albanese is voluntary recalling their products containing pistachios because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections.
