URMC, FDA To Collaborate On National Data Repository For Heart Research (Medical News Today)
The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) will collaborate with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to develop a national repository of data that will aid academic and industry researchers studying the electrical activity of the heart.

FDA Strengthens Warnings On Fluroquinolone Antibiotics Because They Can Harm Tendons (Medical News Today)
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has asked the makers of fluroquinolone antibiotics to place a boxed warning on the label information for doctors and patients to alert them that this class of drug can increase the risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture in some patients. The Agency has also asked them to develop a Medication Guide for patients.

Meda: FDA Approves Azelastine Eye Drops Unit Dose (Medical News Today)
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Meda's (STO:MEDAA) registration application for azelastine eye drops in unit dose (Optivar Unit Dose). The substance azelastine is an antihistamine and the eye drop formulation is approved for treatment of allergic conjunctivitis in adults and pediatrics.
