Two drug discovery companies' initial public offerings fell Wednesday, as investors avoided higher-risk offerings. Biopharmaceutical company Targacept Inc. and Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. both priced $2 below their lowest expected ranges, and then went on to post declines in their first day of trading.
