FDA Approves Treatment For Rare Neurologic Disease (Medical News Today)
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that it has approved an immune globulin product called Gamunex for the treatment of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), a rare autoimmune disorder characterized by progressive weakness and impaired sensory function in the legs and arms. The FDA designated Gamunex as an orphan drug to treat CIDP.
